Salburua Wetlands

The Salburua Wetlands is made up of several lakes surrounded by wet grassland, poplar woods and a small oak grove. Located on the outskirts of the city, it’s one of the city’s most emblematic green spaces.

Walking in nature makes for a nice, relaxing Sunday.  I managed to walk the trail without getting lost, which is a major accomplishment for me.  Usually, I depend on my Eagle Scout Sean guide, and don’t pay much attention.  This time I focused on the green route and looped the lake with ease.

When I first moved to Florida, I learned to always look up to see bird nests.  This was a big one way up high.

I recognize these guys.
Dorothy,  I’m not in Vitòria anymore!

I found this restaurant on the way home.  There are a lot of bars with pintxos here, and dinner is not served until later when I’m getting cozy at home.  It’s a challenge to find a place to sit down and order from a menu before 8 pm. The key is to find the word Restaurante.  This place was huge with large tables for Sunday family gatherings and smaller tables in one room.  No ambiance at all.  Bright overhead lights, white table cloths and a complete menu with your choice of everything.  No frills, but deliciousness.  My kind of place. The highlight was the sea bass served with garlic sauce.  I deboned that baby and went to town.  Moist, juicy and full of olive oil and roasted garlic.  The zucchini was pretty delish too! A whole fish for $15 and a full belly to boot.

4th of July weekend came to a close and it was by far very different, in a good way, than past ones at home.  Total steps - 35,641

  2. Pretty rustic presentation of the sea bass☺️😉as long as it’s tasty and fresh and the right price… no matter😉😄 Pretty soon you’ll be in Brevard again. We had the boys the last two weeks … busy time with them. Time for us now Grand Bend ON next week, then Family reunion in Nova Scotia early August. All is well with us. Brandon is doing well enough to return home this week. Some adjustments to be made .. no use of stairs.. bed on lower level.. no driving for a while till re- assessed in a few months. More news later☺️🥰
