Nanny Diaries

Week 3 is Over

It’s the end of week 3 already!   J, the little 2 year old, finally can sit with me and play without wailing for her mum, dad or sissy.   I’m making some progress. She calls me “Mornin” because she associates it with me coming down from my room and everyone saying “Morning.”  It’s pretty darn cute. Now it’s “Bye Bye Mornin, Night night Mornin.”

Meal time

The parents work from home and have a well-prepared, proper lunch everyday.   They have an hour break, and in that time, prepare (mostly cook) a meal with children seated without tablets or anything electronic   It’s amazing!   I’m not talking PBJ or sandwiches, Mac n cheese, more like lamb chops, creamy buttery pasta with bacon,  lentils with chorizo (my fav) with an assortment of fruit - cherries, peaches as sweet as GA/SC ones, kiwi, berries, and more.  Of course, always a loaf of fresh pan.  For dessert, delicious yogurt like you’ve never tasted before.  Then at dinner time, it’s the same all over again.   Always some type of meat at every meal.  No quick frozen meals.  I’m exhausted just thinking about it.

Looking for Snails

The other day, L took me to a special field where the snails live.  It was a lot of fun to look for them.  These incredible bubble blooms were everywhere.

I love these too!

Spanish Bees

L likes to point out the bees to me.   They are fuzzy and huge with a little white spot on their bottom.

Dress Up

Today we didn’t go to the park because L said she wanted to stay at home.   Child language for “I’m kind of tired this morning, but won’t admit it.”   We stayed home and played dress up with lots of beautiful costumes.

My new do!

FYI: If you’re wondering, I’m not posting any pics of the kiddos for privacy.  Believe me, they’re darling.

  1. I can't image working full time and grocery shopping, cooking and cleaning the kitchen twice a day, every day. How do they do it?

  2. They’re a good team and have a fantastic Siemens dishwasher. One cooks, one cleans, and kids are in bed at 8 pm. Of course I’m helping clean up and they appreciate the help.

  4. Bro - If you can find some abandoned snail shells you can have the kido’s paint them. Better yet have snails for dinner. HaHa.

  5. G'mornin', mornin! How cool is that? Love your pictures and your adventures and the kid stories and just life stories. I believe that the blue flowers in one of your pics are a variety of allium - in the onion family - a bulb and certainly growable at your new home in Brevard.
